He didn't go after the puck at the start but as they said on the broadcast if you are going to force the play you have be confident the forwards are going to back you up. He likely wasn't so he backed off.

Laine with 3 goals in 3.33 games while Dach can't produce and is straight cheeks defensively. Both missed a year of hockey. Miss me with that "let's give him more time, he might be able to tie his own skates by the trade deadline".

Slaf straight up does not care this year and it's extremely bothersome. For a "competitive gamer" this performance is not acceptable.
