Its exciting to project the monumental stupidity that blake, bergevin and robitaille can possibly bring to trade deadline.
Cmon rob blake these next couple of days will probably be your ladt best chance to totally f*** the kings future more than you already have.

The Minnesota Wild are considering trading Marco Rossi amidst his breakout season, as they seek a larger center as a contingency for Joel Eriksson Ek's injury concerns. Los Angeles Kings' Quinton Byfield, a 6-foot-5 center with speed, fits this profile and is on the Wild's radar. However, acquiring Byfield would be costly, as the Kings hold him in high regard and would expect significant returns. With current roster constraints and a desire to maintain their strong farm system, the Wild might consider packaging Rossi with other players to entice a trade for Byfield. Ultimately, pursuing Byfield could solidify the Wild's future while catering to their current needs.

Leafs in on Byfield:

Quinton Byfield

This would be a very complicated trade admittedly, as Byfield’s $6.25 million AAV would be hard to navigate for Treliving and the Leafs, but adding a 22-year-old who is locked up long term, with the salary cap rising, and a ton of untapped potential in his game would be a coup.
While the Kings locked up Byfield long-term last summer, they didn’t give him any trade protection through his deal, which expires after the 2028-29 season.
Byfield has been linked to some trade talks throughout this season, so it would be interesting to see how significant of a package GM Rob Blake would be looking for to pull the trigger. Byfield has recorded 11 goals and 34 points in 50 games, and showed last season as a 21-year-old, he has top-six talent, posting 20 goals and 55 points in 80 games.
The 2026 first-round pick would be in play here, likely Max Domi to help balance the money out, and one of Fraser Minten or Cowan. Byfield’s a ‘hockey trade’ candidate, and it’s going to take a massive haul for Blake to strongly consider finalizing the deal.
Byfield would give the Leafs a core piece that can help push the next generation in Toronto alongside Matthew Knies. He contributes on both sides of special teams, he’s improving in the faceoff circle, and he’s only going to get strong and harder to play against. Playing for Craig Berube would do wonders for Byfield’s game, he’s certainly an ‘off the board’ target for the Maple Leafs, but one that could have lasting impacts on the franchise for years to come.

I fail to see how taking a package of Domi, a late 1st and Cowan for Byfield could be acceptable for the Kings

This sounds exactly like the kind of nonsense and bullshit the Toronto media pumps out to keep the Leafs fans geeked and clicking during trade season.

Byfield for Rantanen incoming...
It cant be. Byfield is their only real center right now. Kopitar and Danault are both ready to be taken to the nursing home. They can barely keep up with the tempo anymore its a travesty.
They called up Helenius today. He is a good 4c. He got like 5 shifts all game.
They have no centers in the pipeline either after those 4. Its not possible for them to move any center for a winger right now.

You're dreaming about the Wild including anything significant on top of Rossi in a trade for Byfield. Byfield is not as good as Rossi right now, and he can only skate by on his draft position/potential for so long.
