Are The PWHL's Eight Takeover Cities Their Expansion Short List?

With eight (and possibly a ninth) markets scheduled to be visited by the PWHL this season, it looks as though the league has narrowed down their potential expansion sites.

Based on quick glances at the Ticketmaster Event pages for the Takeover Tour venues after the first two days of public sales [Ed. Note: I have not looked at the separate ticket outlet sales info for Québec City (Videotron Centre)], the two games @ Rogers Place in Edmonton are approaching a pair of sellouts.

Beyond that, a decidedly unscientific survey indicates enthusiasm levels in Detroit (Little Caesars Arena) & Denver (Ball Arena) & St. Louis (Enterprise Center) have the early jump in ticket sales over the rest of the U.S games. Overall, it appears the Season Second's premier marketing gems are getting the attentions & support of the targeted fanbases/civic organizations/curiosity seekers/lower tier ticket resellers.

WHAT ...no love for Raleigh or St. Louis?

Quebec City should for sure get a team, considering they'd be the hottest ticket in town but also gives a big void for a team not in the NHL. Plus they may have the nicest arena in the league which is another step up. That would be probably the biggest step for the PWHL.

If it's two teams I think the next place should be Detroit.

I was thinking they give them the jerseys the Nordiques were supposed to get before relocating to Colorado. Call them Le Loup du Quebec (Quebec Wolves). Or Quebec Rauque (Quebec Huskies).

As for Detroit I say call them the Detroit Mustangs. I'd say Stingrays but I think to save that for a team along the coast.
