I think Darche has everybody guessing about what he is going to do. When he says his Team is too good to rebuild, it could mean he will make few changes and build on this core, but it could also be a polite way to say „my players will be expensive to trade for“. Palmieri signing rather goes in the first direction, Dobson rumors in the second one. In any case, Pulock could be on the Block but what comes the other way really will depend on Darche‘s willingness to contend as soon as next year or retool on the Fly.

From what’s been reported, it appears that darche is obligated to keep the promises that Lamoriello made before he was let go. It may not necessarily been the right thing to do from a team standpoint, but being honorable isn’t a bad thing in my opinion.

I wouldn't pay one of our first for an aging defenseman.

We have Mailloux and Reinbacher (both RHD) cooking but close to being NHL ready.

The retirement of David Savard might just be the opportunity these guys were waiting for to play in the big show...

So no... if I was Hughes, I'd prefer the future potential of the 2 1st picks...

Habs are still in rebuilding mode.

I think the Isles are probably going to just hang onto Pulock, especially if Dobson ends up getting dealt. His cap hit shouldn't be difficult to work around and, on paper, he looks like the perfect choice to pair with Schaefer when he arrives. I think there's a much better chance that Pelech gets dealt, although I doubt that helps MTL at all.

We're did I mentioned Mailloux as a trading chip for Pulock?

Of course, we'll keep him and play him in the NHL cause actually, he has about the value of a b prospect.

He's the typical prospect that will have an average value untill he succeed or bust in the NHL.

If Habs fans are putting him in trade offers, it's because there were rumors he was on the market.

But that was not the subject here

The subject was the Habs potential interest in a 31 yo RH defenseman, and personally I don't see a fit...

So let stick to the main subject, which at the end of the day is irrelevant as far as my perspective..

P.S.: get over it, he clearly didn't have much judgment by distributing a picture of the woman performing the act... but it was a stupid thing done by a 17 yo...

People can have 2nd chance.. If they show contrition and change themselves.

Those who have never sinned should throw him the first rock...
Lots of team have shown interest in Mailloux.
Don't bother with him. 5 post in and already trolling .

How quickly you guys forget...Every team should want a defenseman with this level of hockey sense - And in a pinch could play goal...

Yep, nice defensive play.

But still, not interested personally and I doubt HuGo will. Particularly at that price for a 31 yo guy.

Habs aren't contenders.

But, since we're at it, here's Mailloux first NHL point at his first NHL game.

See here's the problem, you say some isles fans are not trolling. Do you know how many freaking trade offers isles have seen from Montreal fans involving this guy???? Stop, we don't want him....and if you like him and so many other teams want him, go send offers to them, not us.

1st + Prospect for a 31 year old just seems unnecessary.

Montreal isn't in their window quite yet.
same applies to anderson and weegar out of calgary . any trades of this nature only seem to harm that long term competitiveness that hughes is always talking about . i’d be trying to trade laine in the off season , price in september , matheson at the deadline . gallagher and anderson the following season . (that’s 36,000,000 off the books). see if there’s something salvageable between newhook and dach . take the next 18 months to see what prospects are keepers . if hughes and company really like someone who could slip to the 6-10 range try and package some picks to move up . if we’re playing the long game it seems like an obvious path .

It's funny that people don't want a 31 year old defenseman with 5 years left on his contract because their team is not in "the window" yet. Notice all the teams who have tons of great prospects but then the window never opens? Probably because they didn't have players to play with and mentor the great prospects. To your point, Pulock would be a perfect partner for Schaefer as he develops. I'd just as soon keep him unless the offer is too good to pass on.
