I wonder what it could take if Darche make him available?

One of our 1st with a prospect? Which one ? Could also add if a rentention of something like 600 K is added

Emil Heineman, the 41st overall pick in the 2nd round and the 81st overall pick in the 3rd round should be enough to pry Ryan Pulock off the island.

I like Pulock and rather not trade him but either of those firsts would be very tempting(I still think despite his age there is some untapped offensive potential, he basically was drafted as a PP specialist and we have a terrible PP, his slapshot I would argue is one of the best in the league)

That being said in order for Islanders to trade him I am guessing we would need to acquire a winger(if we acquired a center we would just trade Pageau) and need to open up capspace. He is the type of guy that might be available on July 2 if the Islander can resign Dobson and make a splash on July 1.

Think right now, the plan is for Pulock to stay on the island for at least another year. The plan is to move on from Mayfield at some point this year. Outside shot that Romanov gets moved - I think we sign Dobson.

The following year, I can see Darche moving either Pelech (rather him) or Pulock for scoring depth or picks.

Why not keep Dobson and Romanov, draft Schaeffer, sign some UFA a la Ehlers etc and get some young blood for Pulock ? ;) I feel like you will have more for Pulock than Pelech

our Right side is Dobson, Pulock and Mayfield....mayfield is a goner, either before the season or at the TDL, Roy does not like him. We are weak on the right side, nothing in the system. Dobson and Pulock stay while we try bring in at some point some more recruits in the system. Left side is were we are stronger especially that we are drafting Schaeffer, that's why I say if we pay Dobson, we can afford to move Romanov.

What’s… the valuable piece in there?
Thats not a deal the isles would make....
Heineman and the 41st pick I suppose.

Pulock is a serviceable defender still but his valuation depends upon the buyer, maybe the Isles could do much better being that Pulock is still over 21 minutes on average and is a RD.

I get the sense Ryan isn’t a Patty Roy type of player and the many turnovers this season didn’t help Pulock’s possession metrics, he’s a prime candidate for a move.

Because we are very thin on RD (no one in the system as well). I think Pulock sticks for at least 1 more year, maybe more if he is pair with Schaeffer in 2026.

Mayfied not a Roy player and he wants him gone. I think if we pay Dobson, Romanov will be traded too for some forward help and or another 1st rounder.

What’s the story with DeAngelo is there a chance the Isles resign him?

If so that would definitely signify that Mayfield is a goner.

Boqvist also as a 3RD option.

good question, not sure what Darche has in mind for the 3rd pairing RD. I hope it's not Boqvist. He's at best a #7 guy. My guess is some vet stop gap for 1 year. Think DeAngelo will get more then a 1 year deal from someone .
