puljujarvi and a second this year for jarry. the penguins have three young capable goalies and the oilers don’t.
i think the penguins could develop j.p. better than the oilers can and i personally believe every team sure be built from the net out. i’d like to see the oilers start over (once again) and start from the net out.

Or even trade a young forward (which they need) for a G after signing Koskinen for 4 years

Why would the Pens trade Jarry when Jarry is their future #1? It would take alot more the just Puljujarvi to pry Jarry away.

if jarry is our #1 of the future what happens with 24 year old matt murray? plus an oilers 2nd this year is nothing to sneeze at

The problem is that Pulj is a RW and we already have plenty of those. I'd do Jarry for Bear straight up though.
interesting i am a pens first oilers close second fan. i have seen willingness for oilers fans to trade bear. and as i really like jarry, i’d say done

Did you just make a new account to post this? The proposal is absolutely horrendous let alone you want to add a 2nd. Jarry has shown absolutely no sign that he is a future NHL goalie in this league so I have 0 idea how he is the pens future #1. You know that Matt Murray is a year older than him right? He's 24 years old..

The part about adding a 2nd is honestly laughable. 36 posts in 6 years and this is the quality of trades you are bringing to the table cmon man.

Same thing that happened to a 25 year old Andrew Raycroft. Was good, started shitting the bed, got traded. You can't hang onto guys for sentimental reasons. Murray should have been traded before the expansion draft.

No thanks... goalies don't hold much value until they've proven to be at least a decent backup at the NHL level and Jarry isn't even playing better than our AHL farm team's goalie.

The Oilers have plenty of goalie prospects anyways.

Pens fans are worried about murray being healthy now it seems . But they also have their backup who has been playing great signed for a long time too so they will probably trade one of them while jarry can still be waived

Poolparty can return more elsewhere. Jarry is still a prospect and goalies generally hold little value in a trade.

Pens easily take this deal. Oilers decline and would rather trade for a DMan.

As a fan of neither team, I don't think EDM would do this. Unproven goalies are voodoo and don't think they hold that much value.

If EDM's only choice is to sell low on Jesse, they would be better off just keeping him.

No interest at all from Edmonton. Puljujarvi AND a 2nd? For a guy that hasn’t been as good as Shane Starett in the AHL this year?

Jarry has nowhere near that kind of value and we have a slew of good goalie prospects coming anyway. Skinner and Wells both turned pro and are doing well, Rodrigue has been solid, Starrett has been lights out in the AHL and even that Hawkey kid is playing well in college. Last thing we need to do is to be overpaying for goaltending.

Let Talbot walk and sign McElhinney to back up for a third of the price.

yes man yes i started an account 6 years ago knowing i was going to make this post today. i have been around hfboards since the very beginning. so don’t come at me with that BS. jarry as shown earlier this season he has potential. murray is signed long term and desmith also signed recently. puljujarvi’s stock is rapidly falling and nobody can predict the future but i can see yakapov all over again. refresh my memory what did we get for him again? was it a 4th? and nowhere did i say he is the pens. future #1. but he could be a #1 on another team.

Personally if I were to trade Pulju it would be 1-for-1 for a similar player who is struggling but has potential. Preferably a winger instead of a dman. That or just hold onto him.

AVs Board has mentioned Jost for Puljujarvi.

Both struggling Forwards drafted in the same year. They have similar points (Poolparty played more games)

Oilers. Jost provides. High IQ, offers good defence and can play wing. Strong offensive skills, but still waiting to develop in the NHL. Feisty and tenacious, but not elite in any particular area. Playing in the AHL to regroup and avoid being impacted by the AVs losing.

AVs. Puljujarvi. Need for RW with size. Struggles with IQ could benefit reuniting with former teammate Rants. There is also less pressure developing with the AVs compared to hockey crazed EDM. He can slot into the 2nd or 3rd line to avoid playing against stronger lines.
