Actually, I meant VL for Lettieri, but my brilliant spellcheck changed it to VN (lord knows why). Maybe this is a sign that I should stop being lazy when referring to players. The Staal part was right, though.

I (along with everybody) witnessed Staal losing ground the last few seasons. While never a great skater, he managed and his great reach really helped him back when he could shut down the best (yes he did).
Now, he cannot compensate for not keeping up. Just terrible puck handling, and it's not like we are talking about playmaking, just puck handling.
We will see what transpires, I guess.

I've never seen a player who looks like he should put up 2-3 points a game and normally comes away with 1 or 0 like Nash. It's crazy how many excellent plays he's involved in that don't quite work
