It's easy to forget that because of his current form, but pre eye injury/loss of foot speed Staal was as dependable as anyone.

Love that hockey fights offend people

Staged, pointless fighting, especially in the preseason, is annoying. I can’t imagine coaches actually enjoy seeing their players fight without a purpose. And the fans that love staged fighting are even more annoying. Like, why can’t we just enjoy hockey? Obviously fights are inevitable, but there needs to be a purpose, like a player standing up for another teammate. Not this mindless crap.

I just don't see it as a big deal And in any case, with a new coach, none of us have a real idea of how minutes are going to be distributed. The 12th forward could be getting around 6 minutes.

There are more interesting things to obsess over.
