Enough of these tryouts... cut the scrubs & let's get the full roster by Tuesday and try to win a game.

Need Hank/Georgie to play a full game, then Georgie/Shest split the last one.

Kakko/Kravtsov should play the remaining games, then the latter go to Hartford (unless he plays remarkably well; his decision making doesn't look NHL ready yet)

Skjei/Trouba do not look good together

Fox looks NHL ready

I think Hajek is more ready, Lindgren brings toughness though

I don't mind Di Guiseppe, idk just watching him reminds me of a slightly better and bigger Lettieri

Sam & Joe's gotta stop calling Nieves a kid. At this point he's a 4th liner or ahl'er for life

Lias has taken strides for sure. Dude can move better on the ice and has the same type of impact physically.

He should be a lock for this team.

Wouldn't be shocked if Chytil is the one that has to fight to stay on the roster.

SO who s next next to go ... Robertson to the ohl ..... Haley should but bet he stays for a bit

Jones did well but may aswell go down

Brickley and Gettinger May aswell too

Things will get better when the full lineup is out there, but, I still think making the playoffs is a tall order for this squad. Quinn will once again have them battle hard, and the talent level is higher than last season. But there are still too many questions that need to be answered positively to be a viable bubble playoff team. They're better than the likes of Ottawa, Detroit and Buffalo, and I can see Columbus and possibly the Islanders dropping off. But, the Devils are definitely better than last year. And, so are the Flyers. I see the Rangers finishing in the 7-9 range. They are still a year away from really taking off.

I think you come into this thing expecting penalty kill and goaltending to be a problem.

If they also can't score, they're a bottom feeder, and it's not impossible. If the obvious problem areas are around league average, they should push for the playoffs.

And there's nothing wrong with that, either. I think it'd be best for this team going forward. Let's add another top prospect to the stable, evaluate the development of the promising prospects we already do have and go from there. I think 20-21 is the year we'll be poised to compete for a playoff spot, 21-22 I could see us being a main contender in the conference. Granted, I know it's looking almost foolishly far ahead, but just saying I agree with your overall premise.

By the way, continuing from the game thread, you've been consistent in your belief that Skjei will eventually be dealt, that he'll be a casualty of being surpassed by simply better players and it's something I'd always hoped you'd be right about. I really see it coming to fruition now, though. I think to "survive" and claim a spot on our eventual defense, you're going to have to have a clear spike to your game. You have to have some unique aspect that you bring to the table. What does Skjei really bring? At times, he looks decent. But on the whole, I think he's just too vanilla to stick around. He will be surpassed by Miller on the left, who I still think will be our #1 defenseman of the future.

I kind of zoned out a few times, but Chytil outside the offensive zone doesnt' have the same impact/drive as Andersson. Lias is better defensively + his work ethic is very noticeable. Chytil doesnt look like a creator to me. He needs someone to get him the puck and plant his ass in front of the goalie.

Igor gets the 1st, 2nd and 3rd star--that's with 4 goals against and a bunch of posts because he was good but the rest of the team were really bad.

The Rangers over the last 3 years have helped to make me a much better guitar player because when they start playing like shit out comes the guitar and the headphones and every once in a while I look up and see what's happening on the TV but usually it ain't good......tonight was one of those nights. I come up with some of my best riffs this way.

Time to make some cuts.

Which is why Kravtsov is the perfect RW for him. And, they have obvious chemistry.

Pretty wild that Shesty gave up 4 goals and he was still our best player by far

Wouldn't be surprised if Kravstov gets sent to Hartford. He clearly drips talent but it seems he's having trouble finding space for himself.

Chytil is an excellent creator to me in the sense that I think he's a very good puck carrier and transporter through the neutral zone. I don't know if this is backed up by fancy stats, just basing it on watching him play and his skillset. That aspect alone is why he's always screamed center to me. He seems to get better the more he has the puck. And I love the way he seems to be learning to use his size to protect the puck better this season, especially coming off the boards down low.

Does he have the defensive nous you'd ideally want from your center? Not yet, but I don't think it's egregious at all. As a matter of fact, with some time and refinement, I don't see why Chytil wouldn't be able to become a reasonably good defensive center, even just given his size and strength alone. Maybe I'm crazy, but from day one, I've seen this kid as a a potential 2nd line center at the worst, with top line center upside, given the right linemates. Now with Zibanejad blossoming into that bona fide top line guy, he can just develop at his own pace, surrounded by the surplus of talented wingers we have (at least until Kreider is dealt).
