so first round of cuts right after the game?

I imagine its just the obvious. Is it Biron and Hedberg 2nite?

Looking forward to seeing this group. Lindberg is the real wild card in camp this year, and it'll be nice to see McIlrath play now that his knee is 100%.

I expect after this we'll see everyone who had basically no shot getting cut, and we'll be down to the set of guys with a shot to make it.

I don't think you'll see guys like Lindberg, Fast, Talbot, or McIlrath cut tonight. More guys like Allen, Hughes, Syvret, Mashinter.

Excited to see Lindberg and Fast. I'll also be watching the Pouilot-Brassard-Zuccarello line closely. They have a chance to be a fairly good line.

I think the Puyol-BrassGOD-Hobbit line has great potential.

Zuccarello is great at driving play, we all know how good Brass can be, and Pouliot is a high-% ES scorer.

How would this team go about loosing Biron's cap hit if they decided to go with Talbot/Hedberg? Would he carry a substantial cap hit in the minors? Goalies are hard to trade in this league.

Good to see Talbot getting extra time on the ice. The NCAA is a great place to go for developing goaltenders.

He would have a $375,000 cap hit.

NHL cap hit ($1,300,000) - minimum salary ($550,000) - $375,000 = $375,000.

Replacing Biron with Talbot would save us $362,500 against the cap. (925k - 562.5k). Obviously with Hedberg, it would depend on how much he gets. NHL minimum would save us 375k.

Quick, ditch Biron and give the money savings to Stepan

As much as I like Biron, I really wouldn't mind saving some money at the back-up position with Hedberg and then keeping Talbot in the minors to continue playing. I don't see much of a difference between Hedberg and Biron play-wise and keeping Talbot in the AHL allows him to continue to develop and if, God forbid, Hank needs time off to rest an injury, they will have (2) NHL capable back-ups to split time.
