I know, right. A lot of it is just dumb luck. Hughes and Hischier were straight up Christmas presents. And they got Subban and Gusev only because they were one of very few teams with cap space at the time (because no free agents want to sign there). Getting Hall wasn’t any Shero magic. It was the Chiarelli Effect. The Blues were going to trade Shattenkirk for Hall but the deal couldn’t get done because Shattenkirk vetoed the trade apparently. I’ll give them Bratt, though. I like him, and that was some good drafting.
