Cole makes Lane look like a Lady Byng -contender. He's still leading the nation in PIM's and is much more physical player than Lane to begin with. They both are offensively great D's but digging any deeper than that they are very different types of players.

Kiviharju will make a name for himself after losing some luster due to injury.

He looked very ordinary in the first game not sure how he projects at this point.

Ethan gauthier for Canada and Austin burnevik for USA would be my guesses for unsung heroes this year.

Wish I posted this before the games. Thought Gauthier looked great in game 1

Omitting a 19 year old player who is scoring at the best pace of any player not named mcdavid (and very close to mcdavid) in like 20 years in the CHL because he had 6 bad games as a 17 year old is ridiculous. He probably would have had like a 20% chance of leading the tournament in scoring. At least bring him as a 13th forward so if the scoring doesn't click with the rest of the team you have another option.

I feel vindicated.
