Exactly what the thread title says.

Who are some players that the public (fans, media) values more and less than people who work in the NHL and have a real stake in the decision making process?

This can be drafted players or players not yet drafted.

Cristall obviously. I think Perrault and Buium too. Both are fine prospects, but they were drafted well below what folks here would have taken them. You look at the combined 24 and 25 draft thread and basically everyone has Buium in top 10 there when he wasn’t even top 10 in 24 draft.

Small waterbug type players that excel in Junior, who are not the best skaters. Most can't handle the physicality of the NHL. A guy like Matt Savoie would qualify. Personally, I'm hoping Jagger Firkus makes it but that could be another example.

Practically any prospect that is on the smaller side that puts up really good numbers in junior, your fans/media will value a lot more than people in the NHL.

Guys like Dumais, Cristall, Savoie, Heidt etc.

If these guys dont hit in a top 6 spot then they are useless for an NHL club so they will tend to value them much less at the time of the draft.
