Gauthier in a bit of a funk. Let's see if he can step it up. This is a good test for him, to see if he can motivate a team on his own during a pressure filled game.
I read so many descriptions of Gauthiers game, that it made me check back on Doug Jarvis' career. He was a face off and PK specialist that was drafted by the Leafs 24th overall in that 1975 draft. He was traded immediately after the draft for "superstar" Greg Hubick.
He had a great 3rd Junior year, Gauthier was injured this season and different eras, but if Gauthier became what Jarvis was for the Habs it's a huge win. Jarvis played with some amazing players though. He was later traded to the Caps and along with Langway, made them a great defensive team and Stanley Cup contender.
