A seismic trade has sent Saskatoon Blades star defenceman Tanner Molendyk west to join the Medicine Hat Tigers as part of a nine-piece deal ahead of the WHL trade deadline.
Not really, given the late round picks tend to move en masse in a relatively short cycle (teams typically rebuild every 3 or so years, and so the picks just shuffle around like that). They aren't allowed to trade 1st round picks, hence the giant baskets of later round picks instead. This magnitude of pick bundle is not exactly unusual in the OHL. It's still kind of fun to see it listed out like that, though.
