Just saw the clip of Pulock's goal, listened to the game but not the same as watching. He had to weave and go around players, Hamonic was more going up the middle and the Red Sea parted. Straight away Pulock is fine, it's more of a mobility thing like turns when going against quick players defensively, he can work on it. Last summer he had to work rehabbing his wrist.

The last few games to get Brandon into the playoffs and these first two against Regina Pulock has played at his very best. Brandon looks like they can win this round and advance.

Rex, that's pretty amazing, Brandon is a 6 seed getting hot at the right time against a 3 seed. Woud love to see a Brandon-Edmonton WHL finals. I know it's early though, Regina isn't finished yet.

Have get back to class very quickly if both Edmonton and Brandon win their series, they would meet in the second round, talk later Scott.

Pulock a true leader. Put Brandon on his back to make it to the dance and now he's leading them to playoff wins.

I thought Brandon wouldn't make the playoffs and if they did they would lose right away.

Is it better for Pulock to get a few AHL games to if USB the year or to play CHL playoff hockey?

I don't think it hurts him to be playing intense and meaningful playoff games in the CHL.

I think the CHL playoffs can only help Pulock. So far a very good showing.

Pulock fits the exact mold of what the Isles like in their 1st round picks. He doesn't have that 6 degrees of John Tavares factor, but he scores very high in hockey IQ, character, and skill. He also brings good size, another developing trend in our picks. I'm excited to see how he does in the AHL next year, I think he's a wild card to make it in the NHL because of his rocket shot. That cannon alone could make him useful as a MAB type in the NHL next year if needed. The added bonus is that he is a year ahead of most of his draft peers so his WHL experience and physical maturity are pretty advanced. If he can be a poor man's Al MacInnis, I'd do cart wheels.

With our probable future top-4 of Hamonic, CdH, Reinhart, and Pulock - there could be a lot of mixing and matching. While I do think it will eventually play out where CdH-Hamonic, Reinhart-Pulock will be likely long term pairs... you can mix and match and reconfigure things quite easily. Reinhart-Hamonic could be a big time shut down pairing at ES and on the PK. CdH-Pulock could be a dynamic PP combo. It's a really good mix in the top-4 with all of them able to potentially be the lead in his pairing. We probably won't have a true #1D like Doughty, but we'd have 4 #2/#3 types that could soak up minutes. Add in Pokka, Pelech, Mayfield and everyone else, we should have strong depth in case of injuries.

With the prospects a year more advanced now, I don't think the Isles will be targeting Ekblad with their top pick. Even if we did draft Ekblad, he'll likely be Strome'd/Reinhart'd and be sent back. Even after finishing his OHL eligibility, I think he'll probably get AHL time before coming up. There's a lot of competition for what will likely be 1 top-4 spot up for grabs in 2 years. I think we're going for a forward.

Highly unlikely but if our Dman were to all pan and we had an all drafted defense...

Reinhart-Pulock
de Hann-hamonic
Pelech-Pokka

And theres still Mayfield

other guys with lower expectations are Pedan,Burroughs,Grahm,Somerby,Bischkof, and Churchman

Thats a pretty nice stable of D....

Agree

If Bennett and Reinhart are off the board and we are picking 4th or 5th...

I think we See either of Dal Colle or Draistl as the pick...

I dont think Garth goes outside of the CHL as far as overseas prospects go...

Regina is the 2 seed...but with a measly 85 points. The hit men are the 3 with 103 pts while Medicine Hat is the 4 with 92 pts. Brandon got a gift by getting one of the weakest opponents imaginable. I hate it when division winners automatically get a high seed, but that can be a different subject altogether.

Anyway, you may get your wish to see a Brandon-Edmonton round, but it will be next and not the final.

Welcome to junior hockey. It's weird how you'll go through spells where one conference is so head and shoulders above the other that it makes the playoff seedings look silly.

For instance, in the Western Conference London finished 3rd in their division and had an impressive 103 points. That earned them the 4th seed in their conference and a first round match up against a team with 77 points. If they were in the Eastern conference, they'd be way ahead in first place and playing a team who finished with only 54 points, 14 games below .500 and an easy first round sweep.

whooo way to go TANK!!

His Slapper gets all the attention but his wrister is legit...

I've mentioned this before, but Pulock looks a bit like a RH Denis Potvin in the clips I've seen, especially letting that wrister go from the point or the high slot.

Man did Potvin have a wrist shot. I remember him scoring from the point with wrist shots. Amazing. To me, he reminds me of a poor man's Drew Doughty, the way he sneaks around people to score goals. Doughty is faster, but they have similar builds. Plus Pulock has that bomb of a slapshot.
