It's awesome to hear. I know with Russia there's that veil of what the f*** is going on with their prospects and players because you know...stuff. He's still just 22 and missed an entire year because of the fractured vertebrae in his neck. Hopefully he takes the step from VHL to KHL, last season was probably the best step in his career after missing a full year, so being in the VHL given that is good, showed he can still play and show promise.
I know Khavanov is the Penguins scout over there and seems to be keen on Tankov (I think he was one of the reasons they drafted Murashov as well). Hopefully he still feels strongly about Tankov (I know Khavanov was a big fan of his from older reports).
