Canadian Tire and their "service" can **** off. Those stores are so damn disorganized and their employees are ****ing brainless.

Must be a head office thing because these are my thoughts about my local C.T. Just a truly awful store. Last thing I bought there was a soccer ball, because it's rather hard for them to **** that up.

That's probably a terrible soccer ball. There's a huge difference between a good ball and a ****** ball.

so Canadian Tire has had my defective bike for a week. Called them today and apparently the idiot who builds/fixes defective bikes has been sick for the last week, so no bike. What a terrible business. It would have been cheaper for them to just give me my cash back considering the # of people I've told about the situation and the profit loss from me not buying a lawn mower/snow blower/hockey supplies from them. Idiots. And yes I'm an idiot as well for giving them money in the 1st place.

Some CT's hire a seperate company to put bikes together and do repairs at different CT's. They usually get paid by the amount of bikes they assemble, so you can imagine the amount of horribly put together bikes.

For instance, one canadian tire was putting together bikes with power tools, pretty quick but in no way the right way.

The only warranty is if the entire frame of the bike cracks in half otherwise it's a repair only warranty, because any bike that is returned has to be sold again unless it's defective, they send it back to the company.

Like most stores, some are good some are bad, it probably depends on which CT you go to.

Sounds like your bike might just sit there until the repair guy is done the repairs at another store. Try a CT that doesn't hire a seperate company and ask if the bike technician is certified and/or has done it for a long time.

Do you plan on riding that bike on actual trails? If so, I'm very afraid for you. Go to a real bike shop and get a real mountain bike.

We call it Crappy Tire around here. I've bought a few things there though and have had little to no issue with anything I've bought there. I worked there my 1st year after high school.

got the bike back today, gears were fixed, handlebar tightened, but the bike now has a warped front wheel. Guess the guy doing bikes for them got mad at my criticism, not that I can prove it. I've now taken the bike to an actual bike shop for a go over and am seriously thinking of buying a decent bike from them (like I should have done in the 1st place) if they tell me much needs to be done to make it ride-able.

Moral: Yes you should have just bought a bike from the proper bike shop to begin with. Would have saved you repair costs and headache.

We Canadians call CT "Crappy Tire" for a reason.
