So after 50 games it has finally hit me

We really just are that bad. It isnt bad luck. We just suck. Maybe a NHL coach could help some but dang we are just bad
A decent offensive/defensive system would make these guys look better. Probably would still be a bubble team but this system has so many flaws in it I think even a good team would be mediocre trying to run it. It's one of those things that sounds and looks good on paper but no team has the players to actually pull it off consistently.

It's not that dissimilar from the way that the Hurricanes play, but they are a very good skating team with a very strong defensive group (or used to). We are neither of those. Trying to "gegenpress" with an older, slow, poor positional team with a mediocre (bad) d-corps is...well, what we see.

We should have been playing more of the way we used to to see some of those old Trotz coached Preds teams. Keep the game slowed down, keep it close, and then hope the skill from these old guys can generate goals on the PP and on breakdowns.
