You have to protect the confidence of young guys though, putting them in a position to fail destroys development more than anything else once they reach the NHL IMO

I actually thought that was more on Weegar. If I understand what puck retrieval system the Flames are utilizing he forces the dump in at the blueline and Miro was supposed to be the first to it(which he was not). Weegs instead went to the corner and left the front of the net unguarded. Whoever was the center was not even in the picture either.

It's real bad for sure. I do like that Conroy recognized that no team goes anywhere without a effective blueline and has focused a lot on that so far prospect wise. Now go after as many young centers as you can.
