I'm all for early season struggles if it means the team goes through some growing pains implementing an actual system, kids in top 6 and PP time, and accountability. If Drury and Laviolette publicly preach patience and work in progress attitude through the season maybe the team grows from last season's debacle. Teams like Florida that struggled all year put it together at the right time. Maybe it would be good for this team to battle it out for a WC spot.

I'm sure this will be a VERY unpopular opinion on these boards, but if I don't like the actual players on the team, my interest tends to wane. IMO, rooting for "The Rangers" or any professional sports team is pretty much the same thing as rooting for Exxon or Amazon.com. It's a corporate entity owned by an obscenely wealthy person. I find I'm a lot more engaged when there are players I really love on the team like Dubi/Cally/Hags for example. These guys just aren't terribly likeable.

I think that's why they put him on the fourth line for a couple of games. To show him what it's like when he can't ride on the coat tails of more creative players
