What I expected.

The hit by Xhekaj was nowhere near as bad as some people are making it out to be.

Complete overreaction based on the player and team he plays for.

Typical HF (main) boards.

It's that deceptive tsn angle where you can only see the play in the corner of the screen that is fooling alot of people.

The holistic view from the back end shows what happened, and the league doesn't suspend on these plays unless you hit the the head of the opponent.

If you're going to suspend based on the lateness of hits.... I'm not against that, but strangely, these people won't bring up the late hit on dach by that Ottawa player. Gee, I wonder why.

Both hits were egregiously late, particularly by the Ottawa player on dach, and I'm not surprised that montreal was extra sensitive to it after waht happened just one game earlier, and considering what dach just went through last year.

Pretty much agree with all of this.

Xhekajs hit was late but clearly we can see no headshot, just like the Greig hit. So anything they want for X is going to be applied to Greig

Good news is we were in control of Sens game until Wifi hit. Then they scored bunch of powerplay goals. We get Toronto back again, then Boston and Sens right out of the gate. Get off to good start important. Like to go 2 for 3 in these games.

I agree with you most of the time and truly I always respect your point of view. It's strange that I agree with the revenge mentality this board has become lately. I wouldn't be in that part of the fans but in this case there is a built-up of offences vs our Habs players. After Pezz sended invitations to dance, what was next thing to do? Other teams take liberties with our players, refs and nhl league don't do anything, this league is a joke anyway, so teams have to apply the eye for eye law. League is not doing his job, that's all and logicly this is what happen.
Appreciate the respectful post first off...imagine not agreeing with someone and not having to tell them off. Amazing.

Anyways...I don't disagree with you for the most part, i'll repeat what I've been saying since Tuesday night, I don't have an issue with Xhekaj stepping up for his teammates, that's part of his role.

I have an issue with HOW he did it.

But it doesn't matter, game is done, it didn't mean anything, he wasn't suspended.

Onwards and Upwards as they say.

lol greedy bastards.

“MOAR GAMES!!”
The owners chanted as they sat together at a giant table slurping soup made from melted old doubloon coins
With the players holding up a bowl, "can we have some more?" ? Players are just as greedy.

Our even strength play isn't too bad. But man we really need special teams improvement. That coaching consultant we hired, Grillo I think his name was - any chance he can help with this?
Its crazy how we actually hang with teams at 5 on 5 pretty dam well. Special teams make us a bottom 5 team

The result should have been 1 goal against if the penalty was assessed properly.
But the fact that it wasn't only gives us more kindling for this fire that's been raging for three seasons at least.
I've never been in love with our so called specialists because the numbers don't lie they just aren't very good.

For many years it was the complete opposite. I don't know what the catalyst is to a vast improvement on the PK, but I think Lane Hutson can be a catalyst to the improvement on PP. Certainly a couple years time with both Lane and Demidov if Demidov does what I think he can do.

PK I don't think the solutions are there yet. It probably comes as HuGo re-designs the bottom-6 over the next couple seasons.

I agree the way it happened, like it was all improvised. I'm not sure about the positive of the action but what was done was done, Many teams use injury repetitive violence in their game plan, I guess.

We were still -9 (of -49, 170-179) at even-strenght. If we get better at 5vs5, 4v4, 3v3, we won't be bottom 5.

Our PP/PK differential was -21 (44 vs 65). Add the 12 shorties we allowed, and it adds up to -33.

We also allowed 12 empty net at 6vs5. I think we had 5gf of those, so -7 there.

Allowing less shorties and having a better EV diff would be a good start.

Our biggest problem remains the PK, not the PP.
