Jeeze, whole lotta negativity in here already....

I see Frederic is playing. Kids desperate to prove he's tough. Went after pretty much all the heavyweights in the Metro last year. Gotta assume he tries to mix it up with our 2nd line. Doubt Reaves takes the bait in preseason though.

At least this thread is LIVE, unlike the first preseason game thread. I'm seeing the positive in that.

Here's a little something for Boston

This topic was brought up by another poster (can't remember who it was and in what thread)...

While Hartford is not far away in NHL/North American context (2 hours or something like that), what if the Rangers had their AHL affiliate still closer? In Brooklyn or something, whatever. That would probably increase the chances of your coaches/GMs to be able to watch the prospects more, would make it easier for the guys to make friends with the group etc. So in the case of Kakko, what if he could live with Reunanen and Pajuniemi (well, I guess not with Reunanen since he lives with his GF)? They might not be doing the same things every day because they are on different teams, but off ice communication would be easier.

That said, the Rangers are pretty well off compared to what the Cannucks were doing with Utica, or Florida teams.

I would love to have a NYR minor league team in Brooklyn. I wonder if Isles would have a say in that?

I am getting strapped into the Millennium Falcon, and am in full pessimistic asshole mode for tonight (or just my usual self). I am ready to sew the seeds of doubt and terror in this thread for the next few hours. Good luck to all.

Tonight's team looks to be a typical pre-season lineup: marginal players getting a look. I am not really expecting a quality game. But it's good to take a look at these players and get to know them.

not sure the career minor league guys making ~$70k a year would be thrilled at rent prices/cost of living in the city

This and I still don't think our coaches would attend often. The team is on the road half the year, games often overlap, they have other events which they're required to attend, etc. Maybe they would catch them here and there, but that's what you have others in the organization for that you trust to report back to you.

Oh wow, that's atrocious. I guess our A team was when we got shutout 4-0.

They dressed their projected 1st and 3rd lines in the first game. They’re dressing their projected 2nd and 4th lines in this second game. There’s inevitably going to be some slop in the bottom of the lineups, given they’re splitting the NHL roster into two groups right now.

It's literally the second game of preseason. What else are people expecting?

Yeah I have no idea.

My only takeaway so far is that there won’t be much of interest on the AHL roster this season.
