Preseason don't mean much, but they look horrible. If this is indicative, it's going to be a LONG season.

I'd give it about ten games into the regular season.
At that point we should have a better idea of what we have and where this season might go.

But yeah, it didn't look good.

They look very easy to push around and that has me a bit concerned. They are taking a lot of big hits. Could end up more indicative of the Flames future though.

That's the story of the Seattle Kraken so far in their existence.

It's not that surprising given the roster construction especially at forward where there's next to no one that can actually get to the middle of the ice or keep up with more physical style of hockey.

Though, Beniers supposedly has bulked up so maybe he can get in there some.

Thanks all for the cogent update. Of all the things people have mentioned, I think getting pushed around bothers me most. Have to see how that develops over the preseason.

And I really don't see it changing too much with our full rosters. Offensively, I think that is ok IF they can leverage their speed and play a game which can help them avoid contact. The main part of getting pushed around that I see as a big problem is front net presence on both sides of the net. Quite a few of our goals on Sunday were as a result of not keeping the crease clear in front of Gru. While you don't need to be "big" to have front net presence in the offensive zone, you have to be willing to take a beating. I don't see any of our top-6 forwards being able to do that. In the limited viewings I can see Wright fitting into that role when required. Beniers, potentially could if he keeps up. It was definitely noticeable in the pre-season game to see him take contact and stay on his feet.
