A five game win streak puts this team at only needing another four wins to reach. 500 .... three of those wins against the rare team below the Preds in the standings (Hawks in a shootout, the two consecutive five goals allowed games against the Sharks).

Getting some secondary scoring and climbing up to 29th in pt% still leaves this team a long way from even reaching the mushy middle.

FWIW he has performed pretty decent overall in his 9 appearances for Nashville. I wouldnt go as far as calling him vintage pekka though. With the cap set to rise significantly over the next couple seasons, Saros contract might not be the worst thing ever but im not excited about it. At this point, i feel like Annunen + vet cheaper goalie on short term contract will yield the same results as what we are getting now. As long as we tether ourselves to this "system"
Saros is not getting traded. Everyone needs to just accept that. But I agree Annunen looks like he could be a solid backup for several years so I'm guessing we are all set.

I do totally accept that Saros is not getting traded.

I don't think that should mean that we can't bemoan that fact. It's like... Bruno is not getting fired. Or... we're not picking in the top 5 of the draft and won't draft a #1C. All of those things are true. Yet. As fans I think it should be ok for us to continue to express any dissatisfaction we have with those facts? :dunno:

Oh i realize that. I think it is stupid so ill gripe about it. saros does not seem cut out for whatever Bruno's system is. So we are tethering ourselves to a huge contract that wont look better for a bit. Maybe he will rebound if we get away from Bruno but that also doesnt seem like itll happen for a couple years. Atleast with the rising cap, it wont be as painful and since we dont promote the youth under bruno the capspace isnt really needed anyways
