Im sure Nuge-McD-Hyman would look good as well but the current setup gets Skinner and Brown producing and solves our issues down the middle with Nuge being 3C.

Too bad Podz-Nuge-Arvi didnt look good enough to keep together.

Podz-Drai-Arvidsson to start the playoffs perhaps freeing up Frederic-Nuge-Hyman as 3rd line.

Kane-Henrique-Perry would be my veteran 4th line for game 1. Janmark or Kapanen injected if it lacks speed.


hate Walman-Bouchard duo so hopefully we find another partner for Bouchard.
Stecher will likely be out for a while so that will hurt as well.

I just don't see a spot for Kapanen, Janmark and Ryan. If Frederic is still out I wonder if we keep Jones in to continue bringing some physicality to the line-up?

I expect that Janmark will be in for Frederic until he’s healthy. I would be surprised if he plays game 1.

I don’t know what the forwards look like when Frederic is in. But I wouldn’t be surprised if JSkinner is out, unless he really plays well when Frederic is out. I think I would leave Janmark out personally based on the season. I guess we will see if Perry can keep up.

Kap had a team high (low?) -16 for the year. Only one close is Max Jones, basically an AHLer, at -9. I don't put much stock in plus minus unless it sticks out from the rest of the team, and it definitely does with Kapanen. And all the major mistakes he's made throughout the season pretty much confirm the stats. I don't care how big and fast he is, Kapanen should be sitting with Josh Brown and Max Jones in the press box for the entirety of the playoffs.

Well recently, I've no issue with him playing because of the lack of players, but there's no reason for him to be in the lineup ahead of Jeff Skinner or Janmark once enough guys have returned to force KK to make a decision.

I know Janmark is a black hole offensively, but he makes way less dumb decisions out there than Kapanen.

He makes Yakupov look like someone who had a high hockey IQ.

I got what u have. I just mentioned in a previous post I have been happy with Jones last few. If Frederic cant go, I say Jones. We actually do have depth

They were quoting themselves from back in February when they were pumping Skinnys tires when he played well with Drai, and basically saying that the solution to help the top 6 was here all along and that Skinner probably shouldn't have been demoted or scratched. Right now the ideal spot looks to be beside Connor, but just keep him in the top 6 whether it's with Mcd or Drai.

Atleast that's how I took it.

Knob (offensively) is a dumb dumb. This should have been tried and stuck to in like freaking October/November. Skinner would be sitting on 25 goals right now. It's bad enough when the management is doing stupid things, we don't need the coaching staff also shooting the team in the other foot.

If he got the leash Arvidsson does for his top 6 spot, and we put him on the PP when it was looking stale and ineffective in place of Nuge; I think 40 goals would have been possible.

Insane the disconnect between management and coaching on this player, especially so considering what we lost due to his and arvidssons signing.

and what wouldve happened if Skinner had 25 goals? Maybe Brown couldve been stapled with McDavid all season and he would also be a 25 goals.
Bottom line is that we made the playoffs and guys like Brown, Skinner, Arvidsson, Podkolzin, Perry seem to have decent enough roles on the team as depth players.
Also, Knob is one of the best coaches we have had in over a decade so calling him dumbdumb is like calling McDavid stupid for not scoring a goal in over a month.
Knob has helped turn discarded trash like Perry, Brown, JSkinner, Podkolzin, Dineen, Jones, Kulak, Pickard into something good.
