How about 2 out of 3? Which 2? There are some really weak teams that the Leafs can feast on (Ottawa, Montreal etc) multiple times in the season. I think they will come close.Possible, but highly unlikely. Last year only 15 players hit 85 points league wide, and there was just one team with 3 such players (Pens with Crosby/Malkin/Kessel). In the last 2 years combined, not a single Leaf has hit 70 points, nevermind 85. In fact, the last Leaf to hit 85+ points was Sundin in 96/97, over 20 years ago.
I do think JT, Matthews and Marner each have a CHANCE to do this, but all 3 doing it is very unlikely. They’d all need to be totally healthy, having terrific seasons, AND they’d probably all have to be on the 1st PP. I’d give it maybe a 5% chance.
If I had to give narrow-band predictions, IF ALL 3 PLAY 82 GAMES (which is a massive if):How about 2 out of 3? Which 2? There are some really weak teams that the Leafs can feast on (Ottawa, Montreal etc) multiple times in the season. I think they will come close.
You're assuming all will play a full 82 game schedule, that in itself may not be doable. This should be very doable. Matthews, Marner and JT.

I agree and see this as the reason why it would be so hard for 3 of them to get to 85 points. I could see one of the two combos getting there. Matthews/Nylander OR Tavares/Marner but not both as there is only so much ice time to go around. How is this possible if they play 16-17 mins a night? They need to play 19-21 mins each and then they might be able to reach that point but the way Babcock gives them ice I don’t see even a single one of them getting 85 points.
Matthews will score 90+ points this season. I have a feeling he is coming to play this season.
Both of Marner and Tavares will be 80+ points.
Nylander? He may not even be a Leaf no more.
