What do you think the next contracts will look like for these two RFA's?

I'm more sold on Liljegren, and I was very impressed with his development this past season. I think they'll get him for $2.1-$2.5 million x 3 years.

As for Sandin, I'm less positive about him this year. I'm not sure where he fits into the lineup. $1.4 million for 2 seasons.

Don’t see either surpassing $2m unless it’s a long term deal for Timmy which I would be good with, but don’t see this year with the holes needed to be filled on the roster.
Lilly 2-3x 1.75m
Sandin- 2x1.25-1.5

Sandin chooses a 1 year deal at a modest amount ($1.5 to $1.9M) with the potential of earning a more lucrative deal.
A recent contract that may be a comparable for Liljegren is Henri Jokiharju's 3 year @ $2.5M aav. So maybe for Liljegren: 3 years @ $2.75M aav.

Dermott just last year signed 2 years X 1.5M, and that was with 200+ games under his belt as a solid #5ish guy who people still generally thought had some top 4 upside.

With that as a comparison point, I would say I'd be trying to do Sandin for 2 years X 1.4M, and Liljegren for 4 years X 2.5M.

4 million seems like a lot for Liljegren at this point.
If it’s 7 or 8 years that’s a risk worth betting on. One way around this “cap hell” as some like to put it would be to strike gold on a long term deal or two. Lilly on a 6-8 x 4-4.2 would be a swing for the fences

I'd gamble on Liljegren with a 3-4 year deal around 2M to 2.5M.

Sandin will get a 1 year deal for cheap. He needs to show he can stay healthy and play up the lineup. I don't see the need to go to 2+ years.
4 years walks him directly to UFA. I’d go 2-3 or 6-8 years depending on how the cap structure looks after the draft

Mirtle had them at $900k in a recent article.

I'll go a little higher and say $1.5M x 2 years. Expiring at the same time as Muzzin/Brodie.

10% raises for each guy on 1 year deals .. maybe 1.5M AAV for Lily for 3 years

I think Sandin will be traded and will sign a three year deal somewhere.
I agree .. he is a decent trade chip still and some teams may think they can work on his foot speed issue .. teams can get tricked on 1st rounders with great hands

Yeah until he becomes a legit num 1 d man and wants 8 plus. He may not become that but at worst he's a top four. If we can get him at 4 for say 6-8 years of do that in a heartbeat. Even 4.5-5 would be fine. I believe he's going to be a num 2 in the next few years. a bridge will be a mistake imo

Yeah, unless the term is substantial, like 6 years, if they have confidence in him.
Lilly is a disaster in his own end the best thing he does is fish out the puck after being scored on that's why he was benched by KEEFE

I wouldn't necessarily mind some term on both deals since we're talking about a couple of 1st round draft choices here. I'm not exactly expecting anything long term either though (five years and up).

You could be right, he just seems at the moment to be a bit unproven to tie that much up into.

Signing Liljergen long term obviously presents some risk, but I really don’t see a way (outside of injures) he doesn’t become a top 4 RHD. He’s probably at that level right now IMO. So a 7 year, 4 million AAV wouldn’t be bad to me. But it’s something we likely can’t afford right now so he’ll be bridged

I’d be happy as f*** if Liljegren earned an 8 a year deal because that’s elite money territory.

Just me though.

I’d try to get them both for 2.2/2, but concessions could be made on money and years.
