People ne d to stop using Willander as a throw in. He is exactly the type of player you don’t trade, it’s just asking to get burned. Especially for a player that doesn’t even fill our highest priority. Its a a foregone conclusion that the Canucks are trading the 15th overall pick. They've done everything but say so without actually saying so.
1. Rutherford, who is an open book, expressed that that Canucks may not be active on Free Agency because they might not have cap left by July 1. This despite the Canucks having over 13 mil of cap space as of right now. (Lots of speculation that a trade is already done and they are just waiting to announce and finalize)
2. Canucks upper management (Rutherford and Allvin) did not bother to attend the Draft Combine. Though their scouting team and AGMs attended, the 2 decision makers were not present. This leading to further speculation that the 15thoverall pick is all but traded.
Whats your prediction on a where the 15th overall gets traded to? Maybe as part of the package deal.
The favorite money right now is the 15th + gets traded for Marco Rossi. I'm not sold on it....
Here are the Canucks depth chart to help your prediction..
Debrusk - Ep40 - Hoglander
xxx- xxx- Garland
Joshua - Chytil- Sherwood
O'connor- Bleuger-Raty
Karlsson
Hughes- Hronek
M Pettersson- Myers
E.Pettersson- Mancini
Forbort
Demko
Lankinen
My predication: 15thOA + Willander package for JJ Peterka
Canucks then make a secondary move for Pavel Zacha... something like 2nd round pick + Lekkerimaki
Top 6
Debrusk- Pettersson-Peterka
Hoglander- Zacha- Garland
First of all…I can buy them taking whatever the best offer is for Byram and figuring out the rest later. Because they clearly don’t want the player and aren’t paying him.
But…Peterka isn’t Byram. And unless they have a same day deal in place to flip picks for a player…Kevyn Adams can’t move JJ Peterka for futures in his sixth offseason after failing five years in a row. There’s no way to sell it. And if he would do that for any players they value…Cozens and Mittelstadt wouldn’t have been flipped for NHL players at the deadline of all times.
Future packages for a player they won’t pay in Byram…sure if they can’t get anything else. He has to go before arbitration.
Future packages for an RFA with no arbitration rights they like? I give it a zero percent chance of happening. He can sit and mope for two years before they have to give a shit what he thinks.
Possibly targets for them but 15th would be too much for those players.
Nashville is looking at Fiddler, first Nashville born player and fills a big need.No one.
They trade down with the pick. They trade picks 15, 47 and 65 to Nashville for 23, 26 and 99. They draft Joshua Ravensbergen and Blake Fiddler with the picks.

This draft is weak after thr top 15. Id take future years picks instead because it can be used as trade bait in future deals. That's not what is being rumored by some of the press though. It could very well be that they want the pick for Byram instead, but saying they don't want one when it is that you don't want one is not the same thing.
The only way they could sell ot is if they did other deals brining in vetsFirst of all…I can buy them taking whatever the best offer is for Byram and figuring out the rest later. Because they clearly don’t want the player and aren’t paying him.

Kirby Dach in polish is actually Elias Petterson. We'll give him to you for the 15th overall. I think that's fairAre there any other Pettersons available?

I have no interest in seeing him traded, you don’t trade prospects with his profile.Nobody is using Willander as a "throw in"
He has major value. Canucks are gonna have to give if they want to receive any meaningful players back in return like JJ Peterka.
15th and dime a dozen players like Hoglander isnt going to cut it.
Canucks will have to give top assets like Willander or Lekkerimaki or maybe even Elias Pettersson (dman)
How does that work? You medivac him to Vancouver or what?Kirby Dach in polish is actually Elias Petterson. We'll give him to you for the 15th overall. I think that's fair![]()
Wait, so we give up 2 top 15 picks, one being our best D prospect for JJ freaking Peterka?? then our best prospect and 2nd round pick for Pavel Zacha??Its a a foregone conclusion that the Canucks are trading the 15th overall pick. They've done everything but say so without actually saying so.

Rossi seems to be too undersized and then his back up is an injury prone Chytil. I rather they trade for Tuch even if he is a bit older than Rossi, I feel he can be a great 2nd line center.I imagine it’s something like trade it with a top prospect for Rossi.
I don’t know how effective a Pettersson, Rossi and Chytil C lineup is but this seems a move Vancouver would do.
Its so stupid, reminds me of the Forsling deal that got us a journey man D that played a handful of game for us which was a Benning special. Then we have moronic trade proposals involving the trade of Wilander. These are the type of trades that makes Canucks look like joke. Unless Wilander was traded for some high end, young centerman then it would be completely stupid to trade him.People ne d to stop using Willander as a throw in.
