Now that the first round is over, I thought we could start discussing potential awards.

All Tournament Team:

Necas - Mittlestadt - Andersson
Mete - Dahlin
Hart

Best Forward - Mittlestadt

Best Defenseman - Mete

Best Goalie - Hart

Hard to say at this point, as the medal round is where goaltenders typically step it up.

I'm not saying Hart can't win it.....but I think he needs to show more. My only experience watching Hart is at the WJC and so far from what I've seen in this tournament and last years, is he's a good goaltender, nothing spectacular, who can't stop a beach ball come shootout time.

No way they give Canada that many awards and All-Star spots even if they win.

It is in the US and as we have seen with the reffing they will give them the hometown advantage. I think they will shoe horn in as many Americans in there as they can even though they don't deseve it.

Tkachuk-Necas-Mittelstad
Dahlin-Hajek
Durny

Forward- Mittelstadt
Defence- Dahlin
Goalie- Durby

They love giving the goalie award to a guy from a small team that boosts his sv % by making routine saves against the big clubs who just put shots on net at a high rate.

Gold- Sweden
Silver- Canada
Bronze- Finland

Edit: for the Awards I in no way think those guys deserve those awards- well Dahlin does but not the other two or the All-Stars just who I think the IIHF stooges will choose to fit their agenda.

With how Tkachuk is being praised, while I don't think it's completely deserved, I would think he would be a frontrunner for a spot.
