I like this edition of the Bruins better than I liked either of the 2015 or 2016 editions.
Problem is, I like the rest of the Eastern Conference more this year than last year as well. A lot of the "gimme" points that they could almost bank on vs. the likes of TO, Buff, Car, etc. aren't going to be so easy to obtain this year.
I think we know what we'll get for the most part out of the veterans and young established players like Krug, Spooner, and Pastrnak . This team is well coached, Rask will benefit from having a quality back-up (and someone who can push him) in Khudobin.
It will depend a lot on the rookies. How much of an impact will the likes of Heinen, Czarnik, Vatrano, Acciari, O'Gara, Carlo, Colin and Morrow have.
I don't expect any help to arrive via trade until the March 1st deadline at the earliest. If all goes according to plan, they may not need a whole lot of help.
And as always, injuries can derail even the best of teams.
I think the Habs (with a healthy Price) and TB are locks in the Atlantic. They'll battle Florida and Ottawa for 1 or 2 playoff spots. It might come down to how they compete directly against those two teams that will determine whether they make it or not.
