he's too good to be the 13th forward, but the way in played in the 2nd pre-tournament game it wasn't outlandish that he might have played his way into that role, especially given that they had him(and still does have him) as a placeholder for Point, and are/was using Beauviller as the 3rd center, and Stephens as the 4th center.

there were people calling for him to be cut too which was just never gonna happen

Head coach has seen him play many times over the years.. there was no chance he wasn't gonna be used as a main guy offensively.
