I expected it, the loss, but at least they scored more than the vets would have. Man Clague looks rough, as did Imana and LaWho. People forget Fantenberg and LaDue are the same age. Yes hes a rhd but at this point who cares he has as much upside as Fantenberg. Keep MacD as the #7.

Who do you guys think is slotting into that 6th D spot as camp starts winding down? I gather Clague and LaDue are out of the running and it's between Brickley and Fantenberg?

i'm thinking LaDue (since Blake pretty much promised he deserves a chance on the roster) and Brickley (but MacDermid is making a case as well)

Although, Clague brings in some MA Bergeron/J Corvo type of energy that this team really needs, kings fans are programmed to search for Mattias Norstrom type players

I get the waivers thing but Brickley really should be on the roster. I'm up in the air about LaDue getting a longer look or trading him while he still has solid value.

I don't care that LaDue is a RHD, if Fantenberg out plays him then he should get the spot.

"Potential" means nothing to me especially for someone who's already 26.

Btw I like Etem a lot and that Iaffalo-Kempe-Etem line. A lot of speed and Etem has a physical game as well.

Clague will be ruined if he was rushed to the NHL, just like Aki Berg, and he looks more lost on the ice than Berg was as a teenager.

I think people are overreacting to Campbell's performance. Every time during the regular season he started, he performed great. He even came through against a tough Vegas team in a very crucial game for the Kings to make the playoffs. Every goalie has an off game, and this was preseason after all. I am confident that he will play well going forward and is a good backup. He needs another preseason game in my opinion to shake off the rust.

It was disappointing to see was how indecisive and hesitant Clague played. He was the youngest defenseman on the ice for LA and it was very noticeable. LA's top 5 dmen are all solid and I think all of us would agree that Brickley has been steady so far this preseason. It'll be interesting to see what Blake and company do with the 6th and 7th. I'm pretty much thinking that one of LaDue, Fantenburg and MacD could be picked up if placed on waivers. All 3 have shown at times that they're capable but unspectacular dmen. It's going to be interesting watching this play out.

Amadio, Wagner, Brickley, and Etem have all had very good camps and could be in the line-up. I'd seriously consider benching Thompson to keep as many of these youngins up as possible.

So, the problem is he really doesn't yet. He was -4 last night and looked like he earned every bit of it. But the problem is he isn't doing anything crazy/dynamic offensively to even make up for that. If he was this crazy offensive d-man like he was in juniors to at least be high even on both ends at least you'd have some sort of specialist to 'be entertaining' and put up points and maybe get used in a sheltered role, but the dude was getting shellacked no matter where he started on the rink, and didn't do anything offensively that our other d-men didn't/can't do.
