In several of those games, the Habs barely rostered NHL viable lineups while certain opponents used superior lineups. They weren’t trying to win games as much as they were trying to figure out what they have on hand and how to optimize those assets.

That’s part and parcel of what a new management contingent and new coach are expected to be doing when overseeing their first camp.

Anyone else thinking that Pezzetta is playing himself off the team? He's not doing much right now imo for guy fighting for a spot.

Oh and I wish we had claim McIIrath off waivers yesterday for these 2 games against the Sens...

Xhekaj-McIirath pairing against these baby sens would have been a blast.

Pezzetta’s biggest asset right now is no one is really gonna mind if he’s in the press box for a while as a 13/14th forward.

He brought some physicality and intensity last year, but with all the young blood coming up and the Jackeye train, he’s not really needed anymore. Plus he’s played very average this preseason.

How are they targeting Ottawa. You hit the weakest players and they fall down. Obviously it's more noticeable.

Still, I'm perfectly fine with us being bullies on the ice against Ottawa. They were pretty cocky the game before, now they're crying wolf. As long as we're bullying legally, call us out all you want.

- Development of the young players
- Keeping the morale of the team up while losing
- Getting a top 5 pick

They’ve been targeting an 18-year old player since the first exhibition game as revenge for having beaten up Massicotte and for allegedly hurting two of their players at the rookie tournament.

They had their goon goad Arber into a fight in their first game. And another goon challenging Arber in last night’s game. They’re taking turns using several guys to target an 18- year old, including Tkachuk also trying to get at Arber.

Secondly you might not know this but MTL is not expecting to make the playoff this year so the fewest points
they earn, the better, in order to get their chance to draft Connor Bedard.
