Very true...

And that is the modern sports...

A shame...

PS... maybe that is why my comments tonight are so ultra-cynical...

And I should mention... Sip' should never take a night off...

Someone needs to create a Sip bot that posts in his absence. Just feed his past posts into an algorithm and we'd never know the difference. Someone may need to give it a kick when it gets stuck on Oh Armia is playing?:laugh:

I like that we sent someone to the Oilers board to talk trash on a pre-season game. In mid season form there.

Defence was really bad that game. Especially the Stanley and Morrow pairing.

Roslovic had a good first half then was invisible after. Vesalainen was also didn't stand out in a good or bad way. Lowry line was really good and in top form. Dano and Lemieux had good games but Lemieux did have a costly penalty. Stuff that he needs to shore up if he wants to make the big team. Griffith looks like he would be a solid call up, though I would give Appleton the first look. Speaking of Appleton, he also didn't really stand out, but he does look like he can play with and against better competition. AHL line was awful and not worth mentioning.

I saw some encouraging signs with Comrie's game tonight. I really liked his technique and it looks like he's improved quite a bit this off season. Looks and plays a bit bigger too. Still just one game but he may have a future in the NHL yet.

Was Vesalanin even playing ??

I haven’t seen a whole lot from him yet. Was definitely expecting more.
I liked the effort and hustle from a few Jets tonight. If only all players had the heart of guys like Tanev and Lipon.

Well that result isn't unexpected given the quality of teams dressed tonight. We played them well for two but there quality won out in the third.

Not too concerned with any of the vets, they all are doing what they feel they need to get ready. I liked the play of the LCT line and Morrissey looks quicker and he also looks to be more aggressive with the puck. e was poor but its preseason and he usually isn't great in preseason.

Lemieux had himself a nice game. Very physical and was managing the puck better.

Roslovic showed well again. Was good at managing the puck in his own end and transitioned it well. There will be a bit of a learning curve but I think he will grow into a good all around center.

Ves: Looked just ok. Against tougher comp he had more some trouble playing his game. He didn't look like a player who is ready tonight but he was playing higher in the lineup then what we would normally be doing.

Dano had a nice game, scored a good goal and was playing solid hockey all night.

Appelton is just not ready and neither is Spacek.

Stanley got exposed tonight in his own end. This is where his skating hurts him especially when he is behind the play. He was ok offensively but couldn't hit the net.

Niku good offensively and it was a nice feed on the Copp goal but he continually gives up his own line far too easily. He allows players to walk right in to the high slot to get good shots. He also loses his man in his own end far too easily and isn't strong enough infront of the net. He likely could play a heavily sheltered offensive role but Maurice will likely not trust him until he shores his game up in his own end.

Poolman was better tonight but is still not playing well enough imo.

I feel bad for Comrie as he got hung out to dry tonight.
