The only good players this period: Miller, Kakko, Jones. Everyone else has been somewhat unremarkable. I don't really think that was Schneider's fault on the Barzal goal. That's just a great play.

But there's just very little chemistry amongst the forward lines. And the 3rd pairing is ya know,.

This might be a rough season. I really thought Trocheck and production from our youngsters would put us over the top, but so far I’ve seen good stuff from Kakko and crap from everyone else. Please, please prove me wrong.

The vets are probably playing at like 40% so there's that...

I wouldn't put any stock in this. We've had issues with our vets being engaged for 200 feet in real ass important games.

This is a scrimmage and nobody's playing except guys who are in the team and Tinordi because of an injury.

The team is barely awake out there. They just want the real games to start.

Just tuned in. Guess I'm gonna tune out again.

We're outplaying the Islanders despite the score.
You think so?

Our guys looked uninspired and lackadaisical to me. I understand you don’t want to risk injury and whatnot, but the preseason is also to get used to the physical demands of the actual season. Coasting defeats that purpose.

Igor has also looked less than stellar. But maybe I’m missing something; I’ve caught part of the NJD game, most of the Bruins game and (will have caught) this game.

Rangers were playing hockey for a month + while the Isles golfed so I'll give em some slack
That’s a fair point. I guess the true test will come opening night: Tampa played even more than we did.

Shockingly the only time we've had anything going in the offensive its been Kakko and Jones driving it. Hopefully that changes in the 2nd period. I know it was a makeshift line there at the end of the period with Panarin, Goody and Chytil due to the PK -- but I want them to try that again. I think Panarin needs to be on a line with at least one other skater who is uses their speed to create space. Strome wasn't good at a bunch of stuff, but when he was keeping his legs moving, it gave Artemi space. I'm not sure Trocheck is as effective in that respect, but it's still very early. I'd like to see Panarin with Chytil and any other winger. Just want to see what that looks like.
