Pre scouting the Panthers

Here are two videos. All the goals scored by the lightning and all the goals scored by the panthers in their series

Tell me what you noticed?







Some observations:

1. Tampa was really loose defensively often times leaving a Florida player alone in front with not a single Lightning player in sight
- Toronto is not going to let that happen based on their Ottawa series where they were tight defensively. Most of Ottawas goals were scored with deflections with a lot of screens and traffic in front of Stolarz

2. Toronto must be better at getting the puck out the first time or they will pay for it quickly.

3. Stolarz gives up a lot of rebounds and Florida will try to get on those. Toronto must tie up sticks and box guys out to limit those second chances

4. Bobrovaky gave up 1 goal off a rush so it’s going to be rare for Toronto to beat him straight up. But several goals were scored from right in front of rebounds or tips.

5. Bob let in several goals where he had to move laterally. Toronto needs to do the same and move him from side to side

Tampa didn’t score that many goals so it’s going to be a very low scoring series.

The Battle of Ontario is over and little bro is going to bed with no dinner tonight. I do have to give a lot of credit to the Sens though - that was a razor thin series after looking like a blowout.

For me I'm giving the series puck to Stolie. A couple scary moments and head shakers, but it's no coincidence that his best games ended up as Leafs wins.

HM goes to Berube. That rope a dope is not going to fly vs Florida but it shut down the Sens pretty darn well.
