My thoughts are with them, I hope they can grief in peace

Stuff like this is beyond words.
I hope the organization gives him plenty of space for this. Let him have the rest of the season to do whatever he needs to do.
Ours is four months. She lights up the room with her smile and she rolled over for the first time today. I can't imagine what he's going through. I know we'd be absolutely devastated if we lost her.
I haven't told my wife either.
Anyone have any idea how old the daughter was? Just curious. What a devastating occurrence. Thoughts to everyone in the family and on the team.
I wasn’t sure about his family situation, so I googled him and he has two daughters. This would have been their third. I can’t even fathom. My daughter has the same name, that hit a spot when I read it this morning.Apparently players were telling some people before the first game he missed that his wife was about to give birth, so sounds like newborn. Really, really ****ty situation if that's the case.

I would think a death in the your immediate family would constitute being out for a prolonged period of time. I mean I know the business of professional sports is rain or shine, but this is different. I hope he takes the rest of the season, honestly.
I think whatever he does it has to just be up to him and his family. He may want to come back to have some sense of normalcy or distraction. He may want to do the opposite. He may need to be with his family 24/7. Either way, it should be a family decision and whatever that may be needs to be respected 100%.
