Good doesn't count lol you need to score because you know Dallas will on their first PP. Embarrassing, 1 PP goal all year
We suck on the pp and still barely draw calls. We have 14 pps now? Or 15? Some teams have up to 27

Great road period. This team continues to push the pace and generate shots. But really no one is showing their touch or finishing skills yet.
We would even be more dangerous if these guys were more willing to go to the middle of the ice

Way too much perimeter skating and throwing it back to the point

Islands in the stream.
I'm assuming 80% of HF Oil doesn't realize it's an early Saturday afternoon start.
80% of HFoil is gone period. Numbers of posters really down.

Ahhh. this is hockey as I like it. Hard contested ice, decent transitions, things happening fairly fast. Was a good series last playoffs and a good game. Don't need a lot of goals for entertainment, there was lots in the period. First line looked really business like in that period and getting most of our ozone action.

Stars broadcast with a nice interview and tribute to Brenden Morrow who will go into the Stars Hall of Fame tomorrow. Hell of a player. Did hate him though, of course.

What does it matter how many we get if we can't score on barely any of them. From the best pp in league to the very worst. Just pure talent would get us a couple more pp goals but goes to show how little they care

Apparently Oilers are 4 lowest in hits/60 this year... not sure if it's accurate the way they count hits... but Oilers do feel like they aren't very physical this year.

Maybe they collectively know they get called for everything by the refs so they dial back the physical play.

Its testament that the big signings don't necessarily get it done. Pretty predictable imo that Stamkos was going to be a big EV floater there. The Nashville Huberdeau.

Of all teams, Nashville is one that needed some prime-aged forwards to bolster the team. Getting washed up stars to "carry the load" was not a good idea

They made the Yzer10yearplan Dead Things look good, even

Large part of that is Kane on the sidelines. His numbers had a big impact on our games.

Hyman lost his mojo. Need Savoie to turn out so bad.
just not going for him so far. Was getting better puck luck last season. But the work rate and scoring chances are still there. Probably need to be remembered he's more a 30something goal scorer here than a 54 goal scorer. He sure had it going last year and playoffs.

I love that shot count... but still 0-0... that's a win for Stars after that 1st.
Stars had more scoring chances than shots. Team that shoots perennially wide on scoring chances. Oilers dominated period though. First line was ruling out there.

This.

Last year was a statistical career aberration. We should enjoy it but not expect it again. He’ll get on track. He has work ethic.

Ya I think almost everyone knew he was going back to the 30-35 goal range... especially with how tight refs seem to call stuff in the crease this year. (unless it's an opponent of the Oilers.. they can set up camp in that case).

I agree, last year was the exception not the norm. But sometimes I notice the drop off in talent when top line is stacked. Imagine guy like Savoie instead, with the IQ and puck skills to complement that combination.
