Don't agree with those suggesting to trade Soda.

His value is probably around a 2nd. Hawks have and have had enough 2nd and 3rd rounders throughout this rebuild to last a lifetime. Same goes for B level prospects.

If a team offers a 1st or something valued similarly to a 1st, do it. But I doubt he has that much value league wide and we're best off keeping him and hoping he can be a good 1B (or backup) to Knight.

Even then I’d rather just ride it out and let Gajan and Comesso split time in Rockford keep Soda as a back up for Knight. If Soda continues his good play into next year the return would also be better as well which can’t hurt

Whether or not a player wants to remain on his current team has no bearing on UFA eligibility rules.
