i count two replies to your post in that thread saying donato isn't worth a first. the rest of the replies are pointing out that granlund should be worth more than donato on paper.

You tried to paint Donato and Granlund as the same player due to their goal totals while not even counting their point totals

I don't disagree with you that it would be nice to move on from Jones at some point, we just disagree on what fair value is doing that, RHD that can eat 25 minutes per game and chip in some offense in the 35-50 point range are pretty darn valueable even if Jones has been a touch overpaid.

You might be right here but I see his NMC dropping his value. Of course I don´t know but think that he would be willing to go Dallas or Colorado. And when option are narrowed value goes down.

At this point, I just can't see Jones digging his heels in on his NMC with as bad as the Hawks have been virtually his entire tenure here. Other than like his first season, we are talking worst or almost worst in the league bad which at some point can't be fun. A rational look at the near future is more suck for a couple seasons at least going forwrd. From a practicle standpoint, I would view his NMC as more likely a 15 team no trade list. Not going back to Columbus and probably would reject most Canadian teams, but hard to invision Jones saying no to most legit playoff teams that are interested.

But yes, if Jones is only willing to consider a handful of teams (or 1 like Kane) his value would be depressed. 5 more potential seasons of sucking while also being the guy people like to blame can be a powerful motivator though.

Torn on sending him out…has to be a good return. Seems like a good glue guy who can play up and down the lineup.

He'd be a great fit and addition for Edmonton.

And Stanley is terrible with trades so it should be a 1st rounder for him. I'd be shocked if the pick ended up being any better than 25th or so (regardless of 2025 or 2026 draft). That's still a good return for Donato who you could re-sign in 3-4 months anyway if you wanted.

over on capwages there is a new GM mode. When you choose that you can see people who have made prospective trades. Its kind of funny to see a few trades for Ryan Donato already and what they gave the Blackhawks to get him.

this is kind of fun. I traded away Donato to the Sens for their first but packaged our Dallas second. maybe an overpay on my part? And then traded Seth Jones 25% retention and our 2028 third to Dallas for their 2026 first.

In the past were there rumours coming out of Bowman at the TDL or did his trades just pop out of nowhere.

The rumours around EDM are dead quiet and it does not make sense with the cap space we have.
