My point is why are we lamenting these old guys when the new line is as effective.

Will always love Stenny and Lomby, but they don't move the needle any more than who we are already have IMO.

I just think Nosek is basically a stopgap (that's fine), but if he has to move up in the lineup due to an injury, it will be difficult. Stenlund was able to slot up and play very well.

We have like 0 assets left. Trading samo was a possibility for a top-4 D but I don’t see them trading him for another forward. Depending on how they want to go with Ekblad and Bennett contract wise, they can’t really add another forward who makes good money unless it’s a pure rental and we don’t have the assets to make that happen, nor are they giving up samo was a rental. I assume a 4th line add (preferably a center) and maybe a 3rd line winger but they could easily still with either boqvist or samo as the 9th forward and the other on the 4th so a 3rd liner isn’t a necessity or anything. Our best assets are what? Our 2nd in the ‘26 draft and a select few prospects? Don’t know what that could return

Completely agree. Which makes me laugh when people talk about us taking advantage of LTIR to make huge moves: I'm all bloody for it but how are we going to do that?

Didn't someone suggest that we could facilitate some trades to restock some assets either for this year or for the future? It just seems a waste to have all that gorgeous cap space and not do much with it...

Zito said they were looking for a 3rd goalie, not a backup, sounds like it's Judge's job to lose, so in that case Vanacek is whatever. I said it before I don't really get the concern for a backup goalie, Driedger is starting like 6 games this year, it'll be ok. Don't get me wrong, definitely needs to be addressed in the summer but I have full trust in Bob. And yeah if Bob gets hurt it's over but he's never hurt and that applies to most teams except maybe the Caps and the Canes. Also the Oilers because both goalies are garbage.
