Utah wants to win next year, they may not be very interested in futures. ERod seems very expendable if we deal with them.

ERod is expendable and if he’s part of a deal for a signed defenseman, no question you at least consider it. Especially with Mackie turning into a valuable NHLer

Looking for a available RHD in a top 4 role, Ekblad has taken over Montours spot and production from last season we need just a solid piece back there and we could do worse than Jokiharju for sure. He is a plus player on the Sabres, he could fill that role IMO.

He would play above Kuli without a doubt.

The guy who's been healthy scratched 14 times this year and is playing 12:30 a night on the 3rd pair with the Sabres?

I guess I should said with Karlsson as your dman not type. I wouldnt consider Montour and Karlsson anywere near the same ballpark defensivly.

Too bad the penguins won’t just retain a good chunk on Karlsson. They’re not competing in the next 2 yrs anyways. To get a guy like Karlsson or jones even with a little retained would need to include knight and im not sure management is willing to part with him just yet. Think they’d prefer to run bob as the go-to for the remainder of his contract and hopefully confident enough in knight by that point to hand him the reigns

Not really sure Karlsson is what we need but I'll be disappointed if Tkachuk isn't shut down until the playoffs. He's been pretty inconsistent this year and just hasn't looked right in a long time, not this injury. We need him to be himself for the next several years.

Marino is a good idea. I feel like Jokiharju is too small. A good bottom pair guy, but not top 4. Montour wasn't great in his own end or anything, but he wasn't pushed around in front of his own net either.
