So the top-4 are essentially the same. Monty/Jones provide different benefits, maybe can argue Jones is better. But the bottom pair is where I think OEL was better than Schmidt has been and I would've been comfortable with OEL moving up (he played well earlier in the year when he had to with all the injuries), but not so much Schmidt or Kuli.

Too bad for Giles, would hardly ever be better than a 4th/max 3rd line guy. Zito has shown often enough that he finds excellent 4th liners for cheap prices and short contracts, no reason we have to hang on to Giles.

Schmidt has been fantastic as number 5 so far. OEL is better offensively and carrying the team over the first months of the season. But Schmidt is definitely not a substantial downgrade
