Very fair considering from what i've heard of Dube. Do you think he projects to be top 6 guy or bottom 6? I'm figuring the latter but plays with grit and hustle. Also better suited at center or wing?

He's kind of a dice roll honestly. He is not a bottom line player if he figures it out though. At worst he is on the 3rd line if I had to call it.

He’s right about on par with Howden and way too much for a rental, even if it is Zuc.

You have to outbid the market for him. Might be overpayment, but Dube is replacable if we keep our 1st.

You don’t overpay for a second rate rental that has no possibility of being here long term. Zuc’ is a fine player but there are bigger fish available. Dube only moves for a player with term or a top end talent that has the potential to sign long term (stone).

Pretty sure you don't land Zucc with Mangiapane. It's a good addition at a reasonable price.

2019 1st no conditions (already conditionally owned)
2020 3rd (becomes 2nd if TB wins Cup or Zuccarello re-signed)
Tyler Raddysh
I doubt TB deals Raddysh in any deadline deal.

Brutally awful for Tampa. That’ll be a “hell no” from us.

Lol, OK.

And what would the delicate genius be willing to part with to make a deadline deal?

Your childish personal attack aside, I’m not willing to part with much of anything for a guy who at best would be a minor upgrade to our third line.

Upgrading a 2nd to a 1st, a prospect who realistically has little shot long term in the TB organization and a 3rd isn't really that much.

I mean, yeah, you don't have to make any deals, but Tampa is in a unique position with NYR to lower the cost of a rental because they can remove conditions on a pick already traded to NYR.

And it's not like McDonagh and Miller were rentals either, both re-signed, so the sting of losing a 1st is diminished. You'd be lucky if a 1st rounder became half the players Miller and McDonagh already are.

I guess I'm just not that high on Raddysh, and also, TB is set to be a top contender for 5+ years, so they can restock the prospect pool in the years they don't trade futures

Dube is alright. Don't see him being a 2nd liner though. I'll take the mystery box.
Most late first rounders don't end up as top 6 forwards. Top 5-10 you are likely to get a 1st liner. From there up to about the midway point in the round, you are likely to get a 2nd rounder, after that, a 3rd rounder, 2nd round 4th liners and everything after, depth players. Yes, there are exceptions, but more often than not, this is accurate and Dube projects to be a middle 6 forward.

Except you also get Zucc for a playoff run.

Tampa don`t need him in my view - depth scoring? Tampa have already depth and they are about to move JT. Miller. I can see Zucc end up with Flames since they have a young team for a playoffs run.

Well wrong topic @RangerBoy :)
No we don`t @Vitto79 - we already have their conditional 2019 1st, and personally we don`t need similar deal based on unrealistic conditions, because it might end up in a huge value loss.

One of the few reasons why Gordon did that deal with Ryan Mc. he ran out of time, and not fond of such deals. Tampa may win the cup and are among the favorites without Zucc - and no we don`t need Callahan`s cap hit, because we have too many bottom 6 players which actually make sense to resign Zucc, because Rangers seriously lack top 6 depth while using Fast & Vesey in such roles.

I said it before, I'll say it again, maybe it will be better received this time around.

To New York Rangers:
- Conditional Pick(s) in 2020... 1st if Zucc re-signs, 2nd & 3rd is he doesn't
- Austin Czarnik/Andrew Mangiapane
To Calgary Flames:
- Mats Zuccarello
