Monty’s time most likely done. But this team is so messed up with genuine lack of scorers, D that cant defend, horrible PK and weak goaltending……I doubt any new coach is going to make a significant difference.

Just a mess.
Allow me to rebut, though not in detail.

I think this roster is good, and can be very good. They need more scoring. They will get more scoring at some point.

The Bruins woes are almost entirely, and I would say
entirely, due competent coaching, or lack thereof.

You could put *me* behind the bench and get a better result.

Montgomery must be fired. Post haste.

That is all.

Its going to be an internal move- if it happens at all.

But Id like to see, assuming he is fired as well, the Mike Sullivan redemption tour.

It will happen. Sooner rather than later, one hopes.

Ownership is not going to tolerate missing out on the expected playoff gate after shelling out the dough they did in the off season.

I expect them to make the playoffs. If they do not, it may finally be curtains for Sweeney and Neely.

any move wont happen until the new year
By then it will be too late.

They have to guarantee a playoff appearance. Playoff gate is all that matters to ownership.

I'll grant that Charlie Jacobs wants to win, unlike the old man. But what is most important to ownership is playoff profit.

If the Bruins season continues to go down the tubes in the next few days, which I expect it to do, Montgomery should, and will, be fired.

A few minutes into the 2nd period of the Dallas game, I noticed us not connect on a few consecutive passes. I spent the rest of the period counting how many consecutive passes they could make, 5on5, before making a bad pass/play that led to a turnover.

They made more than 2 consecutive passes twice. TWICE! Breakout pass, turnover leaving the zone. Win a face-off, pass, lost puck. Pick up a loose puck, pass, passed into skates. Pass, pass deflected. Pass, pass missed for icing. Win a battle, pass to support, pass handcuffed the shooter wide open in the slot (Pasta)...

They were working hard, but the execution was... gross. I can't understand how a team of professionals, a team that got to the second round last year. A team that everyone here expected to finish in the top3, can't make 3 god damn passes in a row.

No replacements . Monty will be fine. Bruins make playoffs book it. After that it's a new season and anything can happen. A hot goalie is a great ingredient at that time. Let's go!
Bruins are in 11th place in the East. 18th in the NHL.

I know it seems like there's a lot of time to fix things, but historically teams who are not in a playoff position by Thanksgiving (6 games from now) only have a 23% chance of climbing over the teams ahead of them and getting in.

Goal differential is even worse than their standing!

1) What would they trade to get more scoring? How would they fit more scoring given the salary cap situation?
2) It's not Monty's fault Marchand had hip surgery, or that Zadorov is playing like he's always played.

I totally get it. It's nice to say "Hey just make this one change and this mediocre team will be really good.

I just don't think things tend to have 1 simple fix.

maybe sweeney is an evil genius and he constructed this roster to finish bottom 5 and get a shot at james hagens.
ok he's not, but maybe they are bad enough with monty right now to bottom out. if so, no reason to dump him now.
Taking a page from Harry's playbook, 1996-97 season.

Boston media only cares about the Pat-riots, and the Celtics. The Bruins are doing exactly as the media wants them to. Be a non-factor.

Lightning, Senators, Sabres, Kraken, Utah and Red Wings all have 1 ~ 2 games in hand, so it's more like 23th overall
