No more ex-Bruins. This franchise desperately needs an infusion of new blood.

I know it is far more likely that Leach or Sacco will be promoted to the HC position and it's too bad. The only recommendation I could make is for them to study and reimpose Claude Julien's defensive system. Each successive coach has tweaked it to the point where it's vanished for all intents & purposes. It may not be the prettiest hockey but when you have as much trouble scoring as the Bruins do you need to play a very tight defensive system.

Always love your positivity, Don. But I cannot agree with you this time. This team looks like a watch whose gears are all turning on their own and not meshing with each other. I think the entire team style needs to change and I don't think Monty is the guy to do that. You cant ask a Julien to suddenly coach a Montgomery style and vice versa. Nor should we expect them to.

I think a new voice is needed, effort alone is not enough as we've seen in the past month. We need a new style, the big question this thread has yet to answer is who that new person is.

You took nearly all the words out of my mouth (or keyboard). The only way this roster will be able to compete (regardless of who the coach is), will be to instill a boring, stifling D system, with aggressive backcheck and look to win 3-2 games

Burns did it to perfection back in '98 when he took a brutal team and turned it into a playoff contender. One of my most enjoyable seasons as a Bs fan because my expectations going into that season were so low.

Jacobs needs to give his balls a tug and hold a presser. At said presser he needs to shit can Cam, Don, Monty, Sacco and Kelly. Put Leach in as interim coach and start the process of hiring a new President and GM. His family is poor and desperately need the playoff revenue which is looking like less and less of an option as the games go on. Let the new upper management evaluate the team and make moves accordingly. I for one would trade McAvoy, Carlo and Coyle. Get some prospects and 1sts. Then roll with what you have while inserting Poitras, Lysell, Merkulov etc and see what happens for the rest of the year. Then in the off season the work begins on a new chapter of Bruins starting with 2-3 first round picks and a new coach with Leach addressing the defence, new guy for offence and Essensa for goalies.

I'm sure this will not happen. They will probably trade for another player while shipping out a prospect and our first this year only for it to fail.
Watch the team win one then lose a couple then win one and lose another for a while tricking the fan base into a bit of BELEIVE and then at that point he will the fire Monty. It will show that firing Cassidy was the wrong move, Hiring Monty was the wrong move. Then and only then will Jacobs come in and say enough is enough.

Hopefully the Jacobs family don't have their head in the sand too long and sdo it sooner rather than later to help save some picks and prospects that are desperately needed in this organization. A new voice, system and direction is needed.

Maybe this is me just being angry and that I'm so used to a well oiled, playoff making, entertaining, defensive structured team that I've loved watching for 40 years. We have been spoiled.

I am not against anyone being moved if it will get this team back on track. You mention the kids, my honest opinion, they should be moved if the right deal is there, I thought Loheri had some growing issues last year in the regular season and was not sure he was ready for the big time, but he was terrific in the playoffs, and that changed my thought process on this kid, my thoughts are now he can be put in with Merk, Poitras, and Lysell. You get the right deal pull the trigger. Too early to buy Elias out, I guess.

Too much doom and gloom were only 4 points behind the leafs. Too many games left.

Whatever you think of Quenville professional athletes and coaches seem to have the longest leashes. The NHL has so far been one of the cleaner leagues but there are several examples of guys who did wrong and are still playing.

I’d take Quenville, he’s done his time for doing what he allegedly did or didn’t do and is a top tier coach. I doubt the bruins do though especially after Lucic and the other you defenseman that picked on a special needs kid.

How has he done his time? He just gets out of the spotlight for a bit and that's enough? In fact all he's done since is deny knowing at all (which he is said to have personally attended a meeting where they discussed it) and try to place the blame on those above him. He only takes blame for not asking more questions. BS

They shouldn't get a short leash regardless if it does happen. No thank you, retire from the game and move on. Go coach the youth and make an actual difference if you care about your mistakes instead of saying the right things so you can try to make millions coaching in the NHL again.

There's plenty of deserving guys available who didn't sell their soul to win a cup

He is also a players coach but not in the same way as Monty. He will go to bat and get angry on the league for his team but he also holds players accountable and demands conditioning over heady play.
