I think that Leach obviously agreed to return for a reason. I'm sure Jacobs hasn't soured on Monty overnight. That playoff series the season before last probably started it. And last year's playoffs reinforced it, deserved or not.

What was his quote once, 'I know one thing, I wouldn't want to be Dave Lewis right now'

If they lost in OT of game 7 against the leafs, do you think Montgomery would be the coach right now? I'd say it'd be 50/50 at best for him.

Mike Babcock
Are you willingly trying to forget what happened in Columbus and Toronto with Babcock (see Kadri's new book), or do you not know? People suggesting Babcock are more surprising to me than those proposing Q, though in the latter's case it's more predictable unfortunately.

Agreed, two straight years of playoff disaster would have finished him then and there. Obviously he's not Jacobs cup of tea, probably not Neely's either.

If they lose badly to Carolina tonight IMO Monty's got to go. I know, only 11 games in and 2 outstanding regular seasons previous but this team's lack of effort has been so glaring its becoming obvious the players have tuned him out. I can't think of another reason why they play like they don't care.

I'm sure if Monty is fired then Jay Leach gets promoted, that's why they brought him here.
Well maybe that is another one of the problems, having a guy breathing down Montys neck, to go along with some other distractions this year.

In season coaching change they will name Sacco as interim Coach since he is already an associate. Season's end it will come down to Jay Leach, Jay Pandolfo and David Quinn. As to me,it seems Sweeney scouts the NCAA more that anywhere else.

Do you think Julien would have been fired if the Bruins had lost in Game 7 against the Habs in 2011?

Probably. But it wouldn’t have been the right move.

Two consecutive years Montgomery has the Bruins overachieve. He blew it HARD in the playoffs a year ago. These last playoffs - not on him.

I think he’s eating a lot of shit for making some decisions one may disagree with… and 11 games of suboptimal results. But his resume is much stronger than a dozen games.

It’s frustrating to watch right now. I think we’re trying to solve the wrong problem.

Not sure about that. Off the top of my head I don't remember a whole lot of achievement/improvement after 2011.

Don't disagree much about Montgomery- i like him a a personality, but don't think he's long for the team unless they make some real significant progress from the last two years.

The ghost of Pat Burns, the living ghost that is Don Cherry, the embattle living ghost of Mike Keenan would all do a better job kicking some underachieving butt.

Too bad the TML took Berube off the market, he wouldn't put up with it either.

We all know the coach will be the next internal guy up. Quenneville is the best coach not working but
that's an PR acid bath they won't take.

A few days ago I would have said give him some time.... he can't create chemistry, which seems lacking.

But he made a comment as far as I know the other day about the lack of scoring and badicly said something along the lines of, in regards to the top two lines. 'I don't know if they're wiling to go to the dirty areas'....

Now I read a quote from him about breaking up the 4th line and moving those guys around with the 'hope some of that energy carries over' to those lines...

I think he's pushing the wrong buttons. I don't see any line or player not going to the dirty areas or lacking any real energy.

That's going to bite him hard in the ass with his team.

I don't think Don Sweeney will make a move this quickly. He will probably take his time , considering a coaching change.

Don't understand why breaking up the only servicable line would cure the offensive problem. Guys like Coyle, Zacha, Freddy need to step up and Pasta and Marchand have been terrible but still enjoy life on 1st power play unit. Elias Lindholm while playing ok his production level is unaccepted.

When making a coaching change, I hope they get a coaching staff with fresh new ideas as well a good motivator. Why are they underachieving like this? Why are they having such a hard scoring goals and the same problem in Providence.

I'm really interested in what Dale Hunter could bring. No more attitude problems.
Certainly a fresh face with new ideas would be great. Jay Leach, Todd McLellan, Gord Gallant all bring attitude and motivation and I like coaches like that.

Give the kids in Providence a chance. Doubt they would much worse. Maybe they can't help, but bring some enthusiasm and get a boost of confidence.

I wish i was….

It was nuts.

Just having some fun.
I had an ambien script in 2000 something and I was watching Jeeepers Creepers, eyes wide open snoring. My wife said she was talking to me and thought I was pretending. She said I was like that most of the movie, I don't remember any of it

Everything I listened to in the offseason pointed out that Monty didn’t have a new contract.

SweeNeely spent to the cap and brought in a few names. Expectation becomes deep run. Whether fair or not. That’s what it is.
Not like those two are going anywhere. I’d poop myself if either were let go.

Jimbo will take the fall even though his overall record is still freaking prestine in the regular season. I think the message has run stale and such is the life of an NHL coach today.

Will a coaching change really fix this though? I do think some guys are still finding their footing this young season
