Is going with someone on the current coaching staff really injecting a new voice? If Monty has lost the room, wouldn’t that mean that the staff has as well?
i would say that you are pretty bang on. usually you see a totally different coach, or sometimes the AHL coach comes up and it's still
someone that hasn't been around the group at all (other than maybe training camp).

so sacco would be a peak bruins decision, i suppose.

Nothing is monocausal, but if we have to assign blame for the series, Monty would have the highest share of the pie, followed by Ullmark and the defense.
So he was good enough to get a 3-1 lead and three third period leads in deciding games? Also please don’t tell me you believe he had full autonomy over who plays and who didn’t

Sacco also appears to have been in the role of the friendly uncle to counter the angry coach- he certainly did that under Cassidy, and probably with Monty too. That is one of the staples of the assistant's job- to encourage and such. How that works if he has to be the guy in charge may mean he can only ever be interim. I don't know :dunno:

the second worst coaching job I’ve seen in my lifetime only behind 1986 Game 6 John McNamara leaving Buckner in over Dave Stapleton

I was with Jess and when we saw lineup and lines at game thought Monty was legit drinking and wondered did anyone else think this was a good idea

Like G7 2019, the blame for not coming up big in these situations falls primarily on the players. I will say though, the 3-1 collapse against Florida saw the Bruins see their fair share of shit luck. Marchand is as clutch as they come and he had the series on his stick - if he only had an extra two more seconds to be able to get into better scoring position. The DeBrusk fingertip " hand pass " in G6 that would have extended the lead ( ? ). The tying goal hitting McAvoy in G7. Pasta hitting the knob of Bob's goalie stick in OT of G7.

That was the beat on Dave Lewis, he played the good cop to Scotty Bowman's bad cop, very successful and well liked assistant coach, but once he got the reins and became head coach, he had no respect from his players and failed miserably.

I think only one right answer here for a replacement and it's Quenville. 2nd most winningest coach in history and three cups in the last decade. If anyone can turn this season around it would be him.

I cannot wait for them to fire sweeney, it truly is amazing how many coaches he gets to fire before the finger gets pointed at him

Too much baggage with coach Q. Also, putting aside his legacy issues, he seems more like the type of coach you bring in when you are doing a total reset in the summer. New GM, new coach, new UFA or high draft pick. I don't know if he's the type you bring in to deal with a dubious roster and a floundering season. Either way, I would not go with him for other reasons.

Coaching wise, I will go along with you, as a person, no thank you.

No he is to blame for changing a winning line up that was dominatingbthe series at 3-1.
Then he split up Bergeron and Marchand only to put them back together after going down early in game 5.
Breaking up pairs on the blue line constantly juggling the six defenceman.
Switching goalies way too late in series.
There's more , as many Bruins fans will tell you.
He's a decent coach but this ain't Pittsburg . See ya Monty.

Good now trade some big name players and focus on a rebuild. I mean that’s what’s going on if Sacco is running things. It means they’ve thrown in the towel.

He was complicit in sexual misconduct.

I don’t care how many wins the guy has. Hard pass.

He definitely comes with baggage. I think if fans the league can give Bowman a guy who was in a greater position of authority a second chance then Q prob deserves it as well

I wouldn’t trade anyone until I see how next 20 games go

One step at a time

Likely they get it together
