I thought it would be Leach. Well, see what Sacco can do. Not sure he can make Swayman play better though.

If you lose the room you lose the room and one of the downsides to a strong culture is a unified group of players and if you lose them you really lose all of them.

So we see if Sacco can do anything different. Coaching changes have worked before, We will see if these players can actually play any better.

I haven’t looked but how many current GMs have survived reigning over 4 coaches before ten years is up?
I don't know but I'd guess lots.

Cheveldayoff is on his 5th head coach. Lamoriello is on his 4th coach in 7 years. Drury is on his 4th coach in 7 years. Kevyn Adams is on his 3rd coach in 5 years. The Kraken are on their 2nd coach and they've only existed for a few years.

Bad teams usually go through a lot of coaches, but the Bruins have been at the top of the regular season for some time...

Team looks like shit, but it doesn't seem like the right time to punt on the season. If this rumor is true, hopefully the change can bring some new life to the team. I refuse to accept that this is the best this team can play considering the roster is better than last year.

So he's to blame for the team choking away three different leads in period three games 6 and 7? How so?
Nothing is monocausal, but if we have to assign blame for the series, Monty would have the highest share of the pie, followed by Ullmark and the defense.

Who was the assistant coach who took over from Bruce Cassidy for about 5 games or so a few years ago and the Bruins won every game . I forget the reason who Cassidy wasn’t available.

Listening to the NHL Network yesterday afternoon and EJ Hradek said he thought the Bruins were playing like they were waiting for their coach to get fired.

I agree. I also think Monty's body language is that of a guy who knows he's getting fired. I really hate it from both the players and him.

Tehy need a complete new team behind the bench, the entire structure is shit, the PP is
Very hard to do in season. Any external coach that is any good is going to want at least a 3 year contract to come in mid-season.
Internal promotion with an interm tag and a dangling carrot of make playoffs and win a round and you earn yourself a head coaching contract is more likely.

Can’t say I’m disappointed to see Monty go….

Definitely can’t say I’m excited to see Sacco as HC.

He just wants more exposure for his shows. I don't think he cares about some twitter post, like you're saying.

In my opinion, he just makes obvious shit up in broad daylight to pretend like he knows something. It's pretty shameless if you ask me.

If this ends up being true, I reserve the right to change my stance haha.

Bet you anything that Jimmy Murphy or some flunky mouthpiece makes a reference to his drinking problem.

my next question was gonna be, on a scale of 1 to 10 for pure pot stirring douchehammers (10 being the most), with jimmy thin
skins settling in at around 22, where does this guy keefe rank?

One positive I can think of regarding Sacco in that he was an assistant coach with Claude Julien and Bruce Cassidy so maybe understands their defensive systems and can restore some semblance of team defensive posture on the ice.
Get that under control and the rest of the team's game should emerge.

Wouldn't it just be Sacco taking over til they hire a replacement. Doesn't necessarily mean he's taking over full time ... Someone gotta be behind the bench while they search for a new coach.

The only ray of light if it is Sacco (or Leach or some other internal promotion) is that what we see as the shitshow on defense, or special teams, may not be really down to them. They are assistants (or associates whatever the hell that means- I think it just means a raise lol) so Monty call the final shots. If he wants something on the PP that he thinks will work, he tells Kelly or Sacco to make it happen- coach the guys to play my system. I doubt he just goes completely hands off and say do whatever you want with the defense, for example. If so, maybe when Sacco runs the show his way, it looks different. Maybe.

Oof I’d rather tank the rest of the season and get a good pick. They may get a bounce from firing the coach but Sacco is more of the same

Is going with someone on the current coaching staff really injecting a new voice? If Monty has lost the room, wouldn’t that mean that the staff has as well?

Didn't pull Ullmark in Game 6, Swayman is cold in game 7.

The team gave the goalies enough offense to win in game 6, but Ullmark couldn't give them the one save they needed (granted because he was clearly injured).

The Orlov crossbar and Pasta hitting the knob of Bobrovsky's stick was just a sign from the gods that they missed their chance in game 5 and 6 and weren't getting off the hook.

Respectfully disagree ... Sacco will bring more structure to the Bruins game plan and focus on a tighter defensive structure.... same with Leach
